Best of Logophilius

Want just the highlights of my best and favorite writing from this space? You’ve come to the right place.

Fiction

Mark Flyleaf and the Bureau of Fictional Character Placement

Sparked by the world of Jasper Fforde’s Thursday Next novels, this series of short stories peeks in on the daily duties of Mark Flyleaf, a job placement agent for fiction characters looking for work in other stories. His client list includes Oliver Twist, Ishmael, Dick and Jane, Count Dracula, Cthulhu, and Godot (if he ever shows up for his appointment).

Romeo and Juliet, an Alternate Ending

In this version, Friar Laurence actually makes it to Juliet’s sepulcher before Romeo offs himself. That doesn’t necessarily mean a happy ending; they are just teenagers, after all. I even wrote it in iambic pentameter!

More Fiction

There are certainly more short stories, flash fiction, and experiments with fiction writing to be found in here. Just follow the flash fiction and short story tags.
