Writing prompt: Indecision

Write a scene or short story in which the main character can't make up his or her mind. What are the consequences (especially the otherwise avoidable negative ones) of indecision?

And more importantly, what's the real meaning behind the lyrics of Rush's song "Freewill"?

Story conflicts are so often external, but they don't always have to be. Much of the conflict of The Old Man and the Sea, for example, happens in Santiago's own mind.

This writing prompt should get you thinking about what an internal conflict might look like on paper.
